New Director Appointed to the Tourism Office of Spain in Mumbai

  • Seasoned Government Official Brings Expertise in Sustainability and Tourism Management to Lead Spain's Tourism Promotion in India

The Tourism Office of Spain in India is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms. Elena Orland as the new Director of the Tourism Office of Spain in India and Tourism Counselor at the Embassy of Spain in India. Elena Orland brings a wealth of experience and expertise to her new role, and we are excited to welcome her leadership. Ms. Orland holds degrees in Law and Information Sciences from the Complutense University of Madrid. She has been a senior Government official of the Spanish Civil Service since 1998, specializing in Public Administration Management. Throughout her distinguished career, Elena Orland has focused on sustainability in economic activities and environmental management, working extensively within the Spanish Ministry for Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge. She has also served as an advisor to the Ombudsman (High Commissioner of the Parliament of Spain) on these critical issues. In addition, Ms. Orland has received specialized training in tourism marketing and management, positioning her as a highly qualified leader for the Spanish Tourism Office. Her role and responsibilities as Tourism Counsellor and Director consists in promoting Spain as a touristic destination by coordinating the elaboration of reports and market studies and marketing activities, as well as overseeing both B2B and B2C activities. She also oversees operations in Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bangladesh, and other south asian countries.
