The Camino de Santiago and the film The Way, My Way headline an event in Los Angeles and San Francisco

The Spanish Tourism Office in Los Angeles, in collaboration with the direction and production team of the film The Way, My Way, recently organized an event in the cities of Los Angeles and San Francisco to promote the Camino de Santiago and the various tourist experiences offered by this historic route in Spain.
During the event, a detailed presentation of the Camino de Santiago was given, highlighting its historical and cultural significance, as well as the multiple activities that pilgrims can enjoy along the way. From the rich gastronomy with typical dishes from the regions through which the Camino passes, to its impressive architectural heritage, including cathedrals, monasteries, and centuries-old villages, the Camino de Santiago is much more than a pilgrimage; it is an immersion into the essence of Spain.
Subsequently, the premiere of the film The Way, My Way, directed by Bill Bennett and based on his best-selling book of the same name, took place. The story follows an Australian man who, in search of meaning and purpose, decides to walk the 800 kilometers of the Camino de Santiago in Spain. Along his journey, he faces physical and emotional challenges, meets people from different cultures, and gradually experiences a personal transformation that changes his life.
After the screening, the director and several actors participated in a Q&A session, sharing their experiences during filming and reflecting on the impact the Camino de Santiago had on them.
The Camino de Santiago is one of the most iconic pilgrimage routes in the world, declared a UNESCO World Heritage site and recognized as a European Cultural Route by the Council of Europe. Every year, over 300,000 pilgrims from all over the world venture along this route, attracted not only by its spiritual significance but also by the cultural, scenic, and human richness it offers.
Beyond the religious pilgrimage, the Camino is a journey of introspection and personal growth, where each walker finds their own meaning in the experience. From the stunning landscapes of northern Spain to the warmth of the small towns that welcome pilgrims, the Camino de Santiago is an invitation to disconnect from the fast pace of the modern world and immerse oneself in a unique experience of connection with history, nature, and oneself.
Events like this strengthen the international promotion of the Camino de Santiago, inviting more people to discover and experience this extraordinary route in Spain.
