Spain to launch thirty air connections with the world by 2025
The new routes will improve connectivity with the Americas and Europe, boosting tourism and business.
Spain, which has broken a new record by surpassing 100 million international air passenger arrivals in 2024, will strengthen its position as one of the world's leading air hubs with new air connections to the Americas and Europe. The new routes and the reinforcement of scheduled frequencies will enable the country to maintain its leadership as a tourist and business destination. In 2024, the country recovered direct routes to Asia, which remain operational.
Andalucía
Seville Airport. The city of Seville will have a direct flight to Copenhagen as of March 1, with two weekly frequencies with Scandinavian Airlines. Málaga-Costa del Sol Airport. On March 31 EasyJet will inaugurate a connection between Malaga and Newcastle; on April 2 it will open a route with Leeds Bradford and on April 4 with Marrakech. United Airlines resumes on May 1 its flight from New York with a daily frequency. Almeria Airport will have a new route to London Luton from June 1 with EasyJet.
Balearic Islands
Palma de Mallorca Airport. EasyJet will open the Palma-Milan Linate route on March 30; on April 2 it will be the turn of the route between Leeds Bradford and Palma; on June 4 it will start connecting the destination with Strasbourg, and on June 23 it will open the flight between the island's capital and Palermo. In summer, United Airlines will resume its flights from New York, increasing from three to four weekly frequencies. Menorca Airport. EasyJet will connect with Nantes from April 1 with three weekly frequencies. Ibiza Airport. EasyJet will fly between Ibiza and Milan-Linate from June 24.

Valencian Community
Valencia Airport. From June Air Transat will offer a direct connection between Valencia and Montreal with weekly flights available until October. Norwegian will connect with Oslo weekly from June 21. Castellón Airport. From this summer the destination will be connected to Budapest and Krakow with two weekly frequencies operated by Ryanair. Alicante Airport. Alicante will have a flight to Athens from March 31, operated by EasyJet until the end of October. Norwegian will maintain in summer the route to Riga, opened this winter.
Catalonia
Barcelona-El Prat Airport. EasyJet will open the Barcelona-Milan Linate route on March 30. Delta will launch a direct connection between Barcelona and Boston during the summer of 2025, operating three weekly flights. This operation will complement its existing services to New York and Atlanta. In 2024, Korea's T'way Airlines debuted the Seoul-Barcelona route, and the destination regained its connection to China, thanks to Air China's direct flight to Shanghai. Reus Airport. EasyJet on April 5 will start connecting Reus Airport with Belfast and on June 2 with Glasgow.

Community of Madrid
Madrid-Barajas Airport. SunExpress will resume direct flights from Madrid to Izmir (Izmir) with two weekly frequencies as of April 4. EasyJet will launch a connection between Madrid and Manchester, which will be operational as of June 23. Plus Ultra Líneas Aéreas will increase its frequency with Lima, reaching six weekly flights from July. In 2024 the Spanish capital was once again connected to Japan with a direct flight to Tokyo, operated by Iberia.
Canary Islands
Tenerife South Airport. On April 5 EasyJet will open a route connecting with Milan-Linate. Gran Canaria Airport: Aegean Airlines will fly from Athens from February, while EasyJet will offer direct flights to Birmingham from May 2.
Basque Country
Bilbao Airport. On April 4 EasyJet will start flying between Bilbao and Basel with two departures per week. On May 31, United Airlines' inaugural flight between Newark/New York Airport and Bilbao will take place, with three weekly frequencies. On June 14, Norwegian will open a connection to Stockholm.
