Spain: real sceneries that look like magic fairy tales

Castles, medieval villages and breathtaking landscapes make the country a fairytale destination.

The combination of majestic castles, medieval villages, paradisiacal beaches and imposing mountains not only reflect Spain's scenic diversity and cultural and architectural richness, but also create an atmosphere that seems to be straight out of a fairy tale. It is no coincidence that the country has destinations that could be part of a Disney production. Spain is home to castles that inspire fantasy, such as the Alcazar in Segovia, which inspired Disney to create its iconic logo, or the Alhambra in Granada, which, with its intricate Moorish architecture, lush gardens and panoramic views, looks like a scene from Aladdin. The Irati Forest, in Navarra, is reminiscent of the forest where Snow White found refuge with the seven dwarfs. This beech-fir forest, one of the largest in Europe, is ideal for nature and fantasy lovers.

The Garajonay National Park in La Gomera is reminiscent of Tarzan's jungle. This natural space, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, is a paradise for explorers. The desert landscapes and rock formations of the Natural Park of Las Bardenas Reales (Navarra) look like the scenery of Aladdin or The Lion King. Torla-Ordesa, a magical town in the Ordesa Valley (Huesca), with houses, large churches and temples all made of stone, transports you to the movie Brave. The rocky massif of Montserrat (Catalonia) and its monastery could well house the adventures of a Disney princess.

The Salamanca towns of Mogarraz and La Alberca, with their cobblestone streets and half-timbered houses, evoke Belle's village in "Beauty and the Beast". Toledo's medieval old town, with its labyrinthine streets and Gothic cathedral, is reminiscent of the enchanted villages in movies like Sleeping Beauty. While Cudillero, a picturesque seaside village in Asturias, with colorful houses and coastal atmosphere, shares similarities with Portorosso, the setting of the movie "Luca". El Salto del Nervión, Burgos and Álava, due to its natural environment and a waterfall of more than 200 meters, could be the "Paradise Falls" of Up, while the hamlet of Masca, nestled between mountains and ravines in Tenerife, resembles the town of Pacha in "The Emperor and his follies", and Lanuza, in the Aragonese Pyrenees, is reminiscent of the kingdom of Arendelle from "Frozen", due to its mountainous environment and traditional architecture.
